Further to this post: I was a BIG one for leaving the BA to her own devices! Fortunately she was a great one for imaginative play. You're right though, there is a balance to be struck between providing a variety of experiences for kids and over organising them to the point of learned helplessness. Flip the coin and there is also a healthy balance between giving them space and ignoring them altogether! Himself tends to the latter. :-(
