Crazy Pissed

Since last week, every time I start my car I get a little 'ding' and a message that there is an airbag fault. This is probably just an 'electronical' problem, but since we're driving to Tampa over Memorial Day, I would prefer to have it checked out. I called VW this morning to schedule a service appointment. In the past when I've had to take the car/cars in for service, I've just waited there in the dealership. They have a nice little play area for Sammy, and usually it doesn't take more than two hours. I bring plenty of snacks and we're set. Well, for some unknown reason, they won't allow you to wait for your vehicle if there is an airbag issue. So informed, I then requested to have my service performed over the weekend, when SOB (and his car) would be around to whisk us to and fro the dealership. Sorry, they tell me. They only do routine maintenance on weekends, so if I want to get it fixed, I have to bring it in on a weekday. They did inform me that they provide shuttle service up to ten miles from the dealership. The catch? They can't put car seats in the shuttle, and they won't transport a child without a car seat. Then, in a bright and sunny voice, the girl told me that I can rent a car from them, if I would like, to the tune of $55 per day, plus mileage.

I love my car, but at this point if someone offered me a crane, I would hoist the bitch up and drop it directly on the service department's offices.

Don't miss car dealerships, that's for sure!

How can they keep you from waiting for your vehicle, regardless of the reason? I say give 'em your cell number to call when the car is finished, then go park your pregnant self in their waiting room and let Sammy enjoy the toys. Call the news if they try to kick you out.

We're going to let it ride for now. Since it appears that the 'fault' is on the driver side, SOB has decided he's willing to risk it for the duration of our Florida trip. He's driving, by the way. We'll try and get it in the shop once we get back, on a day when SOB can give us his car. I don't know...
