Two rooms to paint + two sick-ish kids + two in-laws = no time for blogging.
We are mostly finished with the painting. The trim needs touching up because, as I learned, I suck at taping. When we pulled the tape down in the dining room, there was a thin yellow stripe running along the bottom of the crown molding throughout the entire room. SOB was not pleased. To make matters worse, we didn't have any small paintbrushes, so I sacrificed one of my (expensive) make up brushes. He spent over an hour perched on a step stool, delicately dabbing over the yellow line with a lip brush from MAC. We didn't get to Lucy's room yet, but we're waiting until my parents are here so they can help!
Here are a few 'before and after' shots of the dining room:
In other news, Sam started school last week, which is a whole post of its own. And just as expected, he had a runny nose by week's end. But what I wasn't expecting was that Lucy ended up with one, too. I mean, isn't breast milk supposed to be like a force field against germs or something? I guess I should be glad that Sam loves to give his baby sister kisses all the time. I'll just have to teach him to keep his mouth closed when he administers his doses of love to her. I have sucked boogers out of that baby's nose that could have easily come from the nose of a lumberjack. The good news is that she loves when I use that bulb thing to extract snot from her teeny face. She gets the biggest, goofiest grin on her when I come at her with it!
Finally, my in-laws were visiting over the weekend. Lucy found her grandma's lap to be quite the cozy little napping spot!
This is my best shot Monday photo. Check out Picture This for more!

She looks very comfy in Grandma's lap!
Aw, to be a baby and sleep anywhere.
weet sleepy picture
i love the lemon yellow, but I think i may be biased, my hallway is lemon yellow. the only reason we are painting it a lighter yellow is my crappy paints inability to properly repel stains.
Busy, busy, busy! I suck at taping too! that picture of her sleeping in grandma's lap? AWWWW!
That does look like a mighty fine napping place...if only I could sleep that well!
school?!?! what school? should jake be in school too? i suck at this mom thing.
Sweet napping spot. Love the shot.
I like both. Yeah, that's a cop out.
Definitely the band-aid beige. The lemon yellow was just a bit too, um, cheery. Can't imagine having to walk through that to go get a cup of coffee first thing in the morning!
Oh, and boogers "that could have easily come from the nose of a lumberjack"? Gross, but sooooooo descriptive! Poor baby!!
Firstly, 'which one do you like' is a trick question. I want to know know which one YOU like!!!!! Are you asking us because you regret your beige decision????? I would always go with a bright colour but designer husband, (as in job...not role/looks) would probably pick the band-aid. Your dining room reminds me of my sister's in the UK...I will go put a photo in flickr and post you the link.
Secondly, I have never heard of a bulb for sucking boogers...who thought of THAT??? I do remember when the BA was so full of cold she couldn't breast feed cos she couldn't breathe when she closed her mouth. Distressing.
Thirdly, I want to know why Lucy's Grandma has less lines on her neck than I do. Grandma's are meant to have chicken necks...not mothers!!
love that sleeping spot. so cute.
i'm partial to the yellow myself but both are really nice.
Love that photo of your Lucy. She looks totally blissed out.
