Overheard: A Conversation Between Toddlers

I took Sam for a haircut today, at the awful usual place. There was a boy of about seven sitting in the chair, and since they only have one "stylist" working on weekdays we had a short wait ahead of us. Sam doesn't mind usually because they have a slide and some books and crayons.

(Also a TV. He is going through major withdrawal because we told him ours was broken. Is that evil? After the vacation the kid needs a detox.)

Anywho, as we waited Sam played contentedly with a little girl. She looked to be around four and she informed us that the boy getting his hair cut was her brother. Play play play. Slide slide color. Watch TV play and slide later, she sidles up to Sam and drops this bomb on him:

"My brother is getting his hair cut 'cause he has lice. Those are bugs that live on your head. They even lay eggs on your head that are called nits."

Good times.

Eew, eew, eew, eew, eew. Impressively comprehensive for a 4-year-old, but eew, all the same.
