On Friday afternoon I looked out the front window and saw this:
The sky had gone absolutely insane. There was a crazy light coming from one direction and then purple and grey clouds piling up in the other direction. It was only a matter of time before one side won took over, so I grabbed my camera and quickly ran outside in case the clouds won.
Then while I was trying to photograph the sky, I saw this:
A crazy, evil squirrel. These little mf'ers have been driving us nuts lately, no pun intended. They chomp on our remaining apples and then leave the cores to rot. The cores attract the bees, and the bees incite a combination of rage in fear in me. Not a pretty sight. Plus they eat all of the bird seed we put out, which angers Sam to no end. Next year SOB plans to launch an offensive.
In chasing off the squirrel I ended up in the back yard. I heard a buzzing overhead and while I expected to see bees circling my head, instead I saw this:
A small plane was circling overhead in the clear blue sky, which eventually won out by the way. It kept looping a course over my yard, almost as if the pilot could see me and wanted to make sure I got a clear shot. It was tough because I was trying to shoot as manually as possible and was not in auto-focus mode, but I was pretty happy with at least a few of them!
I barely took any photos last week because of the crummy weather/crummy light, but in the span of five minutes I got these three keepers!

My favorite time for pictures is when the sky is dark gray like that.
What a great light on the trees and a cute crazy little squirrel! :)
Great shots. The sky is magnificent and I love how close you got to that squirrel.
I love the first shot. It really looks like a storm is brewing and those fall colors in the tree really are pretty. And squirrels, I'm not fond of them either. When my family hosted a foreign exchange student she loved them. Thought they were the cutest animals in the world. Obviously from another country. LOL
My ex and I had a squirrel as a pet for about 8 months. It fell out of the tree as a baby and so we adopted. We're crazy that way.
I like how you can see a little of the light shining on the trees in the first picture, though all that is shown is the dark gray sky.
love the sky in the first one. that is great.
Love the contrast of the brilliant fall colors against the stormy sky. And LOL about the squirells!
These are great! I love the colors in them all. So bright and cheery. We have a crazy squirrel too...I really should get one of those feeders that looks like a chair or something for my own amusement...
