Celebration

Photobucket

Photobucket

Yesterday we had Maggie baptised. We aren't particularly beholden, but there is something about the ceremony that I find comforting. It was a bitter-sweet day, though. It was my mother's birthday, so there was a great deal of celebrating. Unfortunately their priest, who has been with their parish for 15 years, announced his re-assignment at mass. Any time we don't get to spend a holiday with my parents, they spend it with Father Joe. It was tough news for them. Luckily, me and my kids were here to help keep their minds off of things.

A Christmas Message from the Baby Jesus

This is the conversation SOB and I had in the car on the way to church.

SOB: I'll go to church with your parents, but if I see Mr. X* then I am never going to church again.

Me: Ok, it's a deal. I promise I'll never guilt you into it again.

Guess who sat two rows in front of us at church?

*Mr. X is a random guy we went to high school with who's parents also live in my home town. Oh, and they used to have a big beef with each other when they were 17. We always seems to run into him at the least opportune moments. He also happens to live less than two miles from us in Philly and is possibly a millionaire.
