That's Just Wrong

Once we got home yesterday and lugged all of the crap into the house, we discovered we had been invaded by ants. First of all, we live on the third fucking floor. Secondly, the only food in the house was cat food. These much be some seriously hungry ants to come all the way up to the third floor for some disgusting brown chicken meal. We needed to politely kill our little house guests and also we needed to replenish our non-feline food so we journeyed over to Publix. Among our purchases were milk and ant killing thingies. When we got home I was looking over the receipt and I noticed something a little unusual. I know that there is only so much room on the register tapes and so they have to abbreviate things, but you'd think they would have come up with something else, anything else, for Mayfield homogenized whole milk.

Here's a close up just in case you can't quite make it out.

You'll be glad to know that the ants seem to be gone, and the Mayfield homo I had in my coffee this morning was delicious.

lora says...growing up, the local milk was meadowbrook. the receipts always read "meadow homo", and we thought it was hilarious. it conjures images of leotard-clad gay men leaping among the daisies. at least it did for us.

I just couldn't believe it! I mean, MILK has the same number of letters as HOMO. Why didn't they use that instead?
