Lucy's belly button stump fell off yesterday. On one hand, I'm glad. No more brown scabby raisinette getting in the way of the diaper all the time. But on the other hand, I'm a little sad. The last of the cells that once held us together are now dead. It's one of the first (of millions) of tiny steps she'll forever be taking away from me. Which is a good thing, really. Just good in a way that makes me want to weep a little!
