Whew! Home ownership is hard work. As soon as we finish one project, another one pops up. With the help of my parents, we painted Lucy's room this weekend. In the immortal words of Shelby Eatenton Latcherie, the colors of her room are Blush and Bashful. Which is to say they are Pink and Pink. See?
I must say, I adore it. We don't have anything on the walls as of yet, but that will change as soon as I'm finished basking in all the Pepto-Bismol glory! Since I never got to properly decorate a nursery for Sam, I might be going a little overboard with the girl child, but who can blame me?
I also started 'decorating' our room, which really only means picking out new bedding. But that could have potantially entailed lots of shopping and spending of money that we don't have. Luckily, I am an excellent bargain shopper, and managed to not spend too much of our non-existent funds. But the selection of new bedding is a generally a positive indicator of more painting, and that is not something I'm looking forward to.
Speaking of painting, remember this bookcase? Well, we pried it off the wall yesterday and guess what we found? A red imprint of the exact same bookcase. Apparently it was never taken off the wall when they painted over the red. Because taking it down would have involved the arduous task of unscrewing three whole screws. Quite fortunately for us, the previous owner left a gallon of the paint in the basement, so we didn't have to try thirty different shades of white before coming up with Sherwin Williams Divine White.
Despite all the work, we did manage to get outside and have a little fun this weekend. When we originally decided to move back to Philly, we were planning on getting here at the end of October. While I was thrilled that we were moving, I was a little sad because October is simply brilliant here, and we were going to miss the bulk of it. The long shadows, the crisp air, the changing leaves. So even though it made things a little more hectic and money a little more tight, I was secretly glad when we had to move things up a month to meet the seller's conditions. We bought a big ole' bucket of sidewalk chalk spent some time turning the driveway into an ocean on Friday.
This is the shot I chose for my best shot of the week. Play along at Picture This!
P.S. This is post number 665. Which means that the next post is going to be number 666. Creepy!

I love all your 'make over shots' it is so good for the soul. Keep em coming. I wish I could do a bit of making over at the moment...my face, my house, my job.....you name it.
Quick pass me another bottle of sav blanc!!
that's a room any little girl would be proud to call her own! I've been getting the home-makeover bug lately, too.
Love the perspective in the shot of your little artist.
I can't wait to paint my little girl's room pink! I love it.
And I love the shadow shot. Nice capture.
I love the pink room. I can't wait to get some fun things to hang on the wall!
