Intangibles

I don't generally measure my children's' growth via traditional milestones. Yes, I pay attention to certain things but I know that rolling over and sitting up aren't always the stuff memories are made of.

Today Lucy hit a 'milestone' that made me catch my breath in my chest.

It's silly, but ever since she was born I was able to cut her nails with one clip. That is, her whole teeny-tiny nail fit under the clipper and one light squeeze was all it took. This afternoon as I was clipping I realized that, aside from her pinky, each nail was going to require two separate clips. Her finger nails are just that big now.

She is just that big now.

What a lovely pic! What a sweet milestone. I actually love the mundane tasks like nail clipping. Now I will totally be taking note when my 6mo grows out of the one clip phase!

Oh yes that's the best pic. She is such a doll!!!
Funny I never thought about the nail clip thing because the BA used to carry on so much when I tried to clip her nails that all I could focus on was getting it done without taking off a finger but you're right....that's such a milestone.
And to think.....we knew her when she was 'in utero'. Sort of.
