I just mailed the check to reserve our beach house.

It took a while for me to get there mentally, but I finally did. It doesn't hurt that this is the house we're staying in, and that it is a semi-ocean front property rather than right on the water. (Side bar: hooray for panicky rate slashers because the house wasn't reserved the week of memorial day!) It also doesn't hurt that we decided to go in May rather than September. I have a feeling Lucy will be much more difficult to manage at 13 months than she is at 9. If she is crawling in six weeks it probably won't be well. But by labor day there is a good chance she'll be walking, and her crawling will be quite advanced to say the least.

But I have to admit that despite my reservations, I am looking forward to going. I'll get to spend some time with my bff who I hardly ever see. I'll get some major quality time with SOB, and he'll get some QT with the kiddies. I'll even get to work on my tan a little. Just kidding. I'm an SPF 60 kind of gal. But this is a step in the right direction, I'm sure.

Even if I do end up chaining the kids to their beds at night, we'll have fun!

I'm also an spf 60 kind of gal. I like to use my tattoos as an excuse, but who are we kidding? I love my pale pale skin. Though I am a little jealous.

Sounds fun! I've come to your blog a couple of times through BSM and Theme Thursday, and I liked it, so I read your archives.

You have the perfect little family. I hope everything works out for your brother!

And don't cut Sam's hair short! He'll look to grown up when you do. I love the long hair! :-)
