Movin' On Up

I've been hesitant to write about the moving lately.

First of all, I have to go through the entire process of having a baby before the move, so sometimes I get a little preoccupied with that. The ever expanding size of my uterus makes it kind of hard to ignore, really. Mix that up with the idea of moving with a 19-month old and a 1-month old and you can imagine why as soon as the though pops into my head I do whatever possible to distract myself, including chopping up my own digits.

Also, we are still in the throes of the 'house buying processes', which is a little daunting at times. In our initial plans, we wanted to have settlement on October 1st. Instead we're settling on August 15th. Because of this, our financial situation is a little more perilous day to day. We're on constant cash flow monitoring to ensure that all of the really important stuff actually gets paid for on time. Once this month is over, we'll be golden, financially speaking, but until then things are a little scary.

On top of all that, all of the pictures of our new beautiful home are trapped on the piece of shit laptop. I can't even look at them, let alone share them with you! We're going to work on that this weekend, by the way. And be 'we' I mean SOB. I am not that savvy.

On the upside, we have decided that since we're settling earlier than expected, we might as well move earlier, too. SOB was supposed to work here at Emory until the end of October, but he arranged for September 30th to be his end date instead. This makes me deliriously happy, since October is my favorite month in Philly. The idea of moving there on the tail end of the loveliest time of the year was making me sad-ish. Babes, Aunt Allison and I will head up sometime in mid/late September, SOB will finish up here with work, travel to Austin for his (final) licensing exam, and then join us in Philly. Where we will celebrate by eating massive quantities of Chinese food from the Shangri La, our most beloved restaurant of all times.

Don't get me wrong, I am totally excited and ready to be out of this place. Well, this condo for sure. But I have made some really good friends that I'm going to miss. And the irony of all ironies, Kristen, who had just moved to Philly when we moved from Philly to Atlanta, is now moving to Atlanta from Philly, just as we're moving to Philly from Atlanta. And never the twain shall meet!

So forgive me if I'm not running around shouting with joy about the big move. I'm sure I'll get there soon. And when I do, I'll be sure to share!

We'll just tone our celebration of your upcoming move down to "quietly enthusiastic" until you're ready, then... :)

Well enjoy your life, at least you are not giving up blogging, that's good thing. Update it here and there when you find something to share...all the best.

Don't get me wrong, I am so happy and excited. But sometimes thinking about all the tasks ahead make me a little anxious!

And? I would never give up the blog! This is sometimes my only means of therapy!
