It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood?

Sometime back in the fifties, a powder room was added to the first floor of our house. This is very convenient, and I couldn't imagine having to go upstairs every mother loving time I have to pee.

Which is a lot.

Last weekend, SOB was outside chatting it up with our neighbor John. John's house is identical to ours in every way, except for one thing. His has no ground floor bathroom. They were discussing, among other things, the removal of the tree. Now that the tree is gone, it's nice and open behind the house. John, however, was lamenting that the combination of the tree being gone and the new lights we put on the garage made it so that he couldn't come out back and 'take a pee' in the yard at night.

Now, I have no problem with men peeing outside. And I have no problem with people peeing on their own yard. Here's the problem: John's has no back yard to speak of. He has a big deck and a small asphalt driveway. Oh, and he lives on the corner, so I doubt he's peeing into the street. Which means that the backyard he's been 'taking a pee' in was more than likely mine.

I'm not sure how I feel about that.

*shudder* Does that make you think twice about the little garden you were planning for the backyard?
